VCA/ NIDA
Fri, 26 Aug 2011, 09:54 amHi everyone,
I am applying to VCA and NIDA this year and am getting a lot of mixed feedback about the two. Mainly, VCA.
I am originally a screen actor but do enjoy theater practice, people I have spoken to have warned me about VCA's teaching techniques being outdated and 'a waste of time'. I have tried to look up information on this but everything I have found seems to be back from 2008/2009 and there's nothing recent on the matter. Could anyone shed some light on this for me?
If I do get in is it still regarded highly as an acting course?
Thanks in advance

VCA/ NIDA Getting into an Acting School
Hi
I went to VCA but not as part of the acting course. Last I knew they adhered to a methodology known as 'blueprinting' and 'dropping in'.
My advice? Act your socks off at the auditions and if you get the choice, choose NIDA. VCA isn't awful, it is still regarded as one of the top 3 acting academies in the country...
