OLD MILL THEATRE.

On Wednesday 8th June we will be reading a play chosen by Evan Taplin who has a long association with the Old Mill Theatre.
Evan taught theatre arts courses at ECU and Curtin University and is a keen supporter of the Old Mill Theatre’s play readings.

The play chosen by Evan is

The Busy Body
...written in 1709 by Mrs Centlivre who was the most successful female playwright writing in English until the arrival of Agatha Christie. She is generally regarded as the first female to make a living from her literary endeavours in the English theatre.

The Busy Body is a delightful comedy in the spirit of the more kindly Restoration playwrights and had repeated revivals until the first decades of the 19th century.

So do come and join us on 8 June to listen or participate in the reading of our classic play for the play reading season.
