TVC auditions
Wed, 22 Dec 2010, 12:37 pmOn 8 March 2011, International Women's Day will see the launch of a commercial to raise awareness of the 18% wage gap between men and women. This project is an initiative of Economic Security for Women (eS4W) http://www.security4women.org.au
The concept for the commercial is a mock infomercial and while the commercial has a serious message, the tone is quirky and comedic. The commercial will be shown on Channels 7 or 9, and then released online.
We are currently searching for a few select individuals to be featured as the informercial host, interviewee and 'testimonials'. We hope that you would like to be involved in this fun campaign, with an important message. The host can be either glamorous or comedic. One of the testimonials can be a much older women, but the others need to mostly glamorous, statuesque (20s-30s age bracket).
Please note that this work is likely to be unpaid.
In order for the commercial to be ready in good time, we are aiming to film in late January, so your speedy response would be most appreciated.
To find out more, please contact the Producer, Suzanne Barton on suzanne@wn.com.au leaving your full contact details.

So you're wanting to highlight....
...the disparity between wages of men & women, as part of an economic security initiative for women and you want women to be in a commercial where they are expected to work for free?
Uh huh........

TVC Work
Just a quick reminder for actors re: TVC's.
It's not uncommon for charitable or non profit organisations to recruit actors for unpaid work on TVC's. It is worth remembering however, that regardless of whether you are paid for your work, that it does count as a credit and MUST be disclosed as an on air appearance when attending castings for future paid TVC work.
Sometimes recent TVC appearances can preclude you from future TVC casting consideration, in some cases for up to 3 years depending on the client and the TVC. This is especially important to keep in mind considering a NPO may air their TVC for several years - without the need to pay rollover fees for talent.
Season's greetings,
Tulipa.
