It is with deep sorrow I announce that Norma Standing passed away peacefully at around 2am this morning.  She was surrounded by her family.

Norma has been heavily involved with WA theatre over the years, is an award winning director, stage manager and has served on various committees, these include Garrick Theatre Club, Darlington Theatre Players, Wanneroo Repertory Club and the Independent Theatre Association.

Details of her funeral will follow later.

(Am going to miss you Mummy Norma, say hi to George, and now you can get cracking on that next production together xoxoxo)

Norma is, in my opinion,

Norma was, in my opinion, one of the Best Directors in Perth Community Theatre, she was especially fond of hard hitting dramas, and was a demanding and exacting director, but always brought out the very best in her casts. She always cast her shows extremely well, and chose very good plays to direct. If you wanted an honest and well thought out opinion on plays or anything to do with theatre, Norma was the person to ask. Norma was also a person of immense integrity, and would stick to her beliefs in the face of any and all opposition. Norma also; to those who were close to her, had a very quick and ascerbic wit, and her insights into people and situations were very astute. Rest in peace Norma. Robert.

RIP Norma

We were great admirers of this very talented lady, and have shared many cigs and drinks with her before, during and after shows. Her productions of Death and the Maiden, and Someone to Watch Over me we will always remember, they were fabulous. Norma has left this life in the manner she lived it, with dignity and style. Go with God, Norma. George and Terry xx
