Congratulations to everyone who showed their support of the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre.  Last night, the City of Gosnells revoked their motion and so The Don will continue to be a fully staffed and programmed facility in suburban Perth. Furthermore, it will remain an active participant in the state and national touring networks.

Thank you again.

Next show at DRPAC is the National Tour of "Driving Miss Daisy" - November 18, Tix: $35.40/$31.90/$24.70 Bookings: 9493 4577

Then "The Beat Goes On" presented by a lad in sane productions - November 26, 27  Bookings: 0431 910 345

For more info on both these shows you can go to www.tazentertainment.com.au for all the details.

Thanks and see you at The Don.

Aldo Di Toro sings to Mayor in saving DRPAC

Apparently at last night's City of Gosnells council meeting. Mayor Searle was again very sarcastic. International Opera star Aldo Di Toro attended the council meeting and spoke very passionately about The Don... Mayor Searle was sarcastic and said "oh why don't you sing about it Aldo"... so he did!!!!  An operatic performance for the City of Gosnells !!  What a performance that would have been to witness!!  Onya Aldo !! xx

don Russell

To everyone involved with saving The Don you really have achieved a fantastic result for everyone involved in theatre in Perth and beyond. My theatre company takes our pantomime to the Don for one show in October every year. The "tour" to The Don is a big part of our season and everyone gains so much from working in such a professional venue. Robert and Farah work their guts out to keep the venue buzzing along and I am SO HAPPY to know that their future is secure To everyone who spoke. organised petitions and rallied what must have been enormous support you have achieved a great thing. What a great victory for theatre, the community and the Arts... and commonsense. Bryce Manning Director Wembley Theatre Company

I agree wholeheartedly

And of course, now all we have to do is get bums on proverbial seats, and give the council support for being gracious enough to do an about turn, and of course A lad in sane productions would be more than happy to see that happen with our forthcoming production, 'The beat goes on' (weekend of the 26/27 of November). Note: Unlike the Old Mill's 'Fiddler on the roof', we haven't as yet sold out, in fact aside from the Management who we've glued to their seats that's al lthe tickets we've done, but we do live in hope that this original production, may bring a few punters down to the old Don. If high quality musicals and panto's aren't your fing, then come and check out the lads from Walfamstow ... Footnote: I wish to make it clear that I know some of the people in this show, in fact I know em all, and it might be helpful to mention that I wrote it ,and that's probably why I'm hoping you'll come along and see it. It has nothing to do with the money we've invested, nor the fact that if we don't recoup our costs, that I might be forced into lining up at the salvos soup station, and that reheated vegie soup brings me out in a rash... no we wouldn't go so low as to beg you to come and see this funny show, cos it is funny, even if I say so meself, and I can say it's funny cos I called it a comedy...and why would I call it a comedy if it weren't funny? do come along, we'll show you a touch of the ole British hospitality. Anyone for mushy peas and chips. Johnny Grim A lad in sane productions
