Held over a weekend, Trent plans on taking the students through their strides to equip them with the skills and technique that is imperative in auditions.
A graduate of the W.A.A.P.A. acting program and the V.C.A. postgraduate directing course he has taught for MTC, Bell Shakespeare, The National Drama School, VCA summer and winter schools and regularly coaches students one on one who successfully enter WAAPA, VCA and NIDA.
One of the twelve actors to form Red Stitch Actors Theatre, he also co-created the Chapel Loft space at Chapel Off Chapel with Nancy Cato and is co-founder of Winterfall, Melbourne’s newest independent Theatre company in Northcote.
As a director Trent’s most recent credits include A Man for All Seasons (MTC Education), A Kind of Alaska and As You like It (Winterfall Theatre) and Loveplay (Monash Performing Arts). Also for MTC Trent was assistant director to Simon Phillips on Festen and Scarlett O’Hara at the Crimson Parrot.
As an actor he has three times played the title role in Macbeth for MTC Education and appeared in Still by Jane Bodie at the Malthouse. Most recently he appeared in Frank McGuinness’ Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me at 45 Downstairs, played ‘Curt’ in Blue Surge for Winterfall Theatre and as Father John Stone in televisions City Homicide. He has also worked for Bell Shakespeare in their Actors at work program.
The course will run over a weekend: Nov 6th & 7th
