Director wanted for one act play
Fri, 16 July 2010, 06:28 pmMelville Theatre is in need of a director for their one-act season.
We have a play looking for a director. The play in question is written by local legend Johnny Grim, a.k.a. John Grimshaw, the man responsible for writing the the play awarded "Best Play" at last year's Dramafest.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to get a start in the directing field, as we are always keen to let new directors use the one act season as a training ground. Experienced directors would also be most welcome.
Season dates are Sept 10,11,12,16,17,18.
Melville will be hosting Dramafest the weekend following our season.

Hello Jeff,
Local legend? What garbage! The man'a a nutcase. He's totally in sane that guy. On a more sane note, may I say that I'm thrilled that Melville are considering using the play, it's made my day.
cheers and best wishes
Johnny Grim

Big Head
At the risk of aggravating the issue, don't forget it is Phoenix Theatre Inc who actually holds the trophy for that (in fact, it's in the back of my car as I write).
So, what's the play in question?

The play is called
The play is called Checkout, and is a social commentary on customer service, the facelessness of big business, and people versus automation.
How would you describe it John?
