I was wondering if anybody here could direct me to a Script writing course for beginners. I have found a few I must admit, at schools in Perth but most require full time study, 3 years of your life and are WAY expensive. Anybody know of any short courses just to get a taste of what is required to be a script writer?

Film or Play

For films there is a "Screenwriting for Dummies" book which I understand is pretty good Amazon have it for about $US15.00 http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_26?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=script+writing+for+dummies&sprefix=Script+Writing+for+Dummies I remember reading somewhere that someone recently wrote a script using this book which was actually made into a film. It also contains lots of other useful info. Not knowing WA I don't know have any other suggestions but if you google screen writing or script writing there are lots of useful sites. For plays I suggest you actually look at a few and then sit down and try and write one. Style of format is less of an issue with play scripts than with film scripts but you do still have to type and format all scripts or they won't be read. Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing. www.tonymoore.id.au
