Trial Reenactment
Wed, 26 May 2010, 05:42 pmThe re-enactment of the 1844 murder trial of 15 year old John Gavin is a Fremantle Heritage Festival event sponsored by the Francis Burt Law Education Centre. It will be held on Saturday June 5 at 11am at the Old Fremantle Courthouse on the corner of Marine Tce and Mouat St.
Volunteers are still required to be part of this re-enactment. They have a judge but are still looking for jury members and other parts including John Gavin himself. If you can help please contact Alex Marshall at the City of Fremantle on 9432 9716 or alexm@fremantle.wa.gov.au
The Fremantle Gazette has agreed to run an article next week to encourage more people to participate. There will be a photo shoot this Friday afternoon (May 28th) at 3.15pm outside the Old Fremantle Courthouse and you are encouraged to turn up even if you are not wanting to become part of the event itself. If you happen to have period costume please wear it.
