The 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama has been awarded to the musical "next to normal", music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey In a controversial decision the Pulitzer Board over-rode the decision of the jury, which had not short-listed the eventual winner. This is the second time in it's 94 year history that the board have over-ridden the Drama jury's decision. In 1986 the board decided to award no prize rather than give it to Robert Wilson's "the CIVIL warS". "next to normal" is the 8th musical to be awarded the Pulitzer. Short-listed plays were: "Bengal Tiger at the Bagdad Zoo" by Rajiv Joseph "The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity" by Kristoffer Diaz "In the Next Room (or, the Vibrator Play)" by Sarah Ruhl
