Australian Actors London West End Week
Wed, 17 Feb 2010, 01:50 pmHi Everybody, We're getting a lot of questions recently so I thought I'd try to get a discussion going here. It seems to be a on going trend here in Australia that the only way these days that an actor can get to see an agent or casting director is by attending one of their workshops. The days of the "Go See" are rapidly ...dying out. I can remember when you trained, got an equity card, got an agent, advertised in the local casting portal and waited for the auditions to roll in. But it was always a catch 22. To be represented you had to be seen in something and to get a job you had to have a good agent. With advances in technology we are promised that our details can be on the desk of a casting director anywhere in the world. What? Like they've got no one like you in L.A. or New York? Look at the ads now, so many industry professionals are coming to Australia and other countries from Hollywood giving expert coaching and master classes and fantastic they are too, but don't you think you should be over there in the mix of things? I formed this company and organised this trip to enable actors to be even more proactive. Of course I can't guarantee that you would get an agent or offered a job, you'd have to blow them away yourself just like you would have to anywhere! What I can promise is that you will get the opportunity. You will meet excellent industry professionals who definitely are interested in seeing you. Casting Directors who are casting at the time and agents who are looking for new talent. The rest is up to you. With accommodation and breakfast in central London together with transport, the meetings and a few tourist sights thrown in for a bit of fun! The price is very realistic. To qualify you'll need to have some experience with professional credits on your resume, a passion for hard work because that's what its going to be and you must really WANT to do it !! It's a leap of faith. Give me your comments and opinions and go to the website www.aicorporate.com.au
Thanks
Paul
