Furry fun for everyone at Teddy Bears' Picnic
Fri, 5 Feb 2010, 03:26 pmHead to Maylands Waterland on February 21 and you’re sure of a big surprise – the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
But unlike the famous song, families and toddlers don’t need a disguise to enjoy an array of fun activities, including a bouncy castle and pool inflatables, as they come along with teddies in tow.
Fairy Queen Caroline will perform a live show at 11am, entertaining and enlightening young people on the best ways to promote friendship, sharing and cooperation.
"The Teddy Bears' Picnic is a wonderful community event, bringing families and children together in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere," Bayswater Mayor Terry Kenyon said.
"Teddies of all shapes and sizes will be on show as part of this special day, which also includes plenty of family-friendly activities.”
Maylands Waterland is a City of Bayswater-owned facility with four shaded splash pools, water slide, waterfall and channel, a large water fountain, mini-golf course, shaded seating areas, barbecue for general use and a kiosk.
Located at 32 Clarkson Road, at the end of the peninsula, in Maylands, normal prices will apply on the day – $3.60 for adults and $2.90 for each child.
Group bookings of 15 people are $20 and can be made on 9276 6538, entitling people to a reduced entry fee of $2.50 for adults and children, a 50 per cent discount on mini-golf and reserved shade areas.
