Sharon couldn't the

Sharon couldn't the 'Smallest Theatre In The World' become a tourist atraction.

Open every Saturday, Sunday & long weekends during the day. Booking in the miriad of mini tour bus operators,  by offering to perform a quick One Act plays serving them devonshire teas & flogging the punters T shirts, genuine other Acorn Smalls & souvineers of thier vist.

That might make the City Jerkoffs extend your tenure & even atract tourist grants/sponsorship from the LocalCouncil & State Government departments,  plus free publicity & on going promotions.

It's not the the smallest

It's not the the smallest theatre in the world! The smallest theatre is in Worcestershire UK. http://www.wctheatre.co.uk/ Anyway, it would be in Acorn's best interest to find a larger venue to get more bums on seats to make a profit. If not they'll just fade away.

Wot a Pohmy bog!

Is not the this Pohmy privy only 'The smallest theatre in the world (building)?

Although I know of less salubrious theatre dunnys - a bucket!

Thus a punch 'n judy booth could be so regarded as a such, rather than  having a performing theatre space within.

So is Acorn still designated by the 'GBoR' as the smallest theatre in the world?

They might get more BOS's by having a larger venue, but would they still have the potential of a greater profit from being also a tourism atraction & then own thier own theatre!

No venue

Acorn's Smallest Theatre venue is to be demolished and the land sold off. The building is old and full of asbestos, there are no disabled toilets and the council will no longer maintain the building. The only options were to become a travelling theatre or fold. I was not at the meeting last night due to family commitments but will find out and inform you all of the outcome. Surely the GCC has other

Surely the GCC has other venues you can use?

How about:-http://facilities.gosnells.wa.gov.au/Facilities/FacilitiesMonthlyAvailability.asp?FacilityId=289

Or on old transportable or even a donga, there again they could always revert to doing it on ye olde village green from a flat bed truck!

Also a travelling theatre group is a great idea, there is always the Phoenix Theatre venue, just down the back road in Hamilton Hill?

Travel or not to travel

It was carefully considered regarding travelling a show, and the membership was not keen, due the aging population of the members. No one was willing to take the lead on this as they have all been the theatre long enough to know the work involved. It is hard enough to get a crew together for a show in your own venue let alone in one that you do not know. "If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun." Katherine Hepburn.
