Ticketing

I was extremely disappointed by the egregious approach taken towards ticketing. To be honest, as a student - as many performers are - the ticket fee was a bit steep. $25 is a lot of money. To be honest, it was difficult to justify. I have never been to an amateur show that cost so much - especially without a concession option. But I have never been so absolutely furious as when I was asked to cough up a $5 transaction fee. We were paying cash at the door - as were many people there. Apparently there was a lesser charge for internet bookings - which is where a transaction fee would normally occur. And then my mother and I were told "oh, you can save money if you buy tickets together." We could save more if we hadn't been charged it in the first place. I shouldn't have paid. Especially as the apparently 'top dollar' ticketing services didn't even include ushers to take tickets: I could have walked in for nothing. I am disgusted. I thought the evening was great and I was happy to pay something. The tickets (and transaction fee) were the only downer, especially as I have heard rumours concerning "double-dipping" but I won't repeat them here as they are unsubstatiated. I will take every step I can to ensure that the club I belong to doesn't make the same mistake as the Finley Awards. Money-grubbing of this magnitude is unacceptable.
