CLASS ACT THEATRE THEATRE-IN-EDUCATION - SCHOOLS TOUR SYDNEY AUDITION NOTICE Professional female and male actor wanted for theatre in education plays touring Sydney Schools ; must be experienced, trained and able to sing. Actors are required to have their own car and drivers licence. Female: - Stage age: 18 – 28 - slim/petit and attractive - Dance ability preferable but not a requisite Male: - Stage age range: 18 – 28 - Larger build required to play the role of a bully Earn $90 (+ petrol) per performance (45 minute show), usually 2–3 performances a day, during school hours. 2010 Seasons: Term 1: March 1 – April 1 Term 2: April 27 – June 4 Term 3: August 16 – September 24 Auditions will be held Tuesday 19th of January, in Crows Nest. Applications close on Friday 15th of January. Originally formed 13 years ago in Western Australia, the Theatre-In-Education company, Class Act Theatre will be in its fifth year in Sydney. The play “Bully Busters” and “Image Busters” is being performed at high schools (yr 7-9) and the play “Bully Busters, the original” will be performed at primary schools (yr 2 – 6). The plays will tour and visit various locations throughout Sydney metro. The members of Class Act have had years of experience in this field, and to date the company has produced over thirty five original plays (over 5,000 performances) to over 670 000 children. As the school tour is on for a limited time, actors are required to be available five days a week, during each season. However, actor’s time is considered and multiple performances are booked per day. There may be some days during the tour where you will not be performing. 2. When will we have the tour schedule? As early as possible, however the schedule is always evolving as bookings continue to be made even during the tour season. 3. What time of the day do we perform? The shows are on during school hours; anywhere from 8.30am – 4pm. 4. How do we travel from school to school? You will require a car to travel around Sydney. We do encourage car pooling; petrol money is also available for those that drive. 5. Is there much singing in the play? There is a little singing throughout the play as well as simple movement/choreography. The male character Jake opens the high school play and the female character Bo opens the primary play. Actors must be able to sing and project as no amplification is used during the tour. 6. How do we get paid? You will be paid $90 per show (plus petrol money) and will be required to invoice Class Act Theatre at the end of each term 7. Will we get paid for rehearsals? You will not be paid for rehearsal time. 8. What types of schools? Private and public schools throughout greater Sydney.
