Acorn members vote no to Councils proposal
Fri, 4 Dec 2009, 09:36 amLast night at a general meeting at Acorn Theatre, the members voted a majority no vote to moving to the Addie mills Centre. Amongst the reasons were, the stage is too small, there are no wings or backstage, no daytime access for set preparation, also storage that is too far away from the building and people would have to venture out at night (in Gosnells, in all weather) to bump out the set after Saturday night shows.
The search continues, on the plus side Acorn has not shut down and can choose to be a travelling theatre if the members wish.

Alternate venue?
What about the Don Russell performing arts centre in Thornlie?

Acorn
They've already visited that one... and from my understanding not a possiblity.
Councils need to get with the times !!!
