OLD  MILL  THEATRE

PLAY READING

Friends, members and supporters of the Old Mill Theatre’s play reading sessions for 2009 have enjoyed hearing a modern, award winning, international play and a much interpreted classic.

Our October play reading is offering the opportunity to two members of the theatre of having their work read.  The Board and members are delighted to present:

A DETECTIVE’S WISH written by John H Lewington from Wanneroo introduces new PI, Harry Limes as he sets up his new business and meets his first clients.  Light hearted and entertaining, A Detective’s Wish has its moments of suspense and drama.

MOLASSESS KISSES written by Terry Brien of East Victoria Park is a monologue adapted from one of his own short stories, dealing with the eternal question ‘what is love?’ and the deconstruction of relationship.

To finish off the evening, another one-act will be presented:

THE FIRE ON THE SNOW by Douglas Stewart, although not locally written has an Australian theme and presents the trials and challenges of Scott, Oats, Evans, Wilson and Bowers as they try to beat the Norwegians to the South Pole.

Come and enjoy an evening of friendship and entertainment and provide support to our own home grown talent.
