Just wondering if anyone had the chance to see Dial M for Murder? I really wish I had the time... I was hoping someone would have written a review :)

please encourage the hard work

Sorry I didn’t see this production.

Often, there are plays that I fancy seeing in the outer suburbs, such as Wanneroo, Roleystone, Kalamunda and recently, the latest Acorn production, but I find it very difficult to determine on the night if there are still seats available. An exception is ‘The Old Mill’ that usually has a great answer-phone service, with Norma’s dulcet tones, stating which nights still have tickets available.

To travel 40 kms each way to some of these venues, only to discover that it is a full house, is like seeing your mother-in-law driving over a cliff in your new car - a mixture of happiness and annoyance - happy for the cast, but irritated at having wasted the evening on a long drive for nothing.

If shows have seats on hand, then perhaps it would be a good idea to mention this below the Production Details on this site, rather than putting an announcement on Billboard etc, that can sadly appear like begging an audience to attend.

For example, I know that ‘Fawlty Towers’ at Rockingham in September, has already nights sold out and it hasn’t even been advertised yet. That could be a very risky trip.
Few actors get paid – even the professionals are often lucky to break even – if you enjoyed a show, please write a review and encourage those concerned.

Good thinking, Gordon!

I agree with your comment:

"If shows have seats on hand, then perhaps it would be a good idea to mention this below the Production Details on this site, rather than putting an announcement on Billboard etc, that can sadly appear like begging an audience to attend."

It would just require the admin for the company to do updates now & then. Maybe "tickets available all nights except where stated below", then add in any sold-out dates after that...

This kind of info might lead to more spontaneous theatregoing, which can only be a good thing.
