The debate as to whether local theatre is amateur or community theatre is a hoary old chestnut. However, on looking through the Theate.asn. website, I am now wondering if there should other considerations.

The contributors to this site have used the following:-

Ameteur theatre (19 times), Amature theatre (84), Amatuer theatre (190), Amteur theatre (1), Amtuer theatre (1), Ametuer theatre (14) and the correct spelling of Amateur theatre (>500).
Perhaps Community theatre (>1500) is safer, with the only variation being Comunity theatre (21) and thankfully Communety (0).

"However, on looking through the Theate.asn. website..." Theate? Maybe you should've been looking at the Theatre.asn website instead! Cheers, Craig ~<8>-/====\---------

Cryptic message?

Well spotted, Jeff. Or is that what he meant by a 'Spelling Bee'? That he'd hidden a spelling error and left out a 'be' ..? Cheers, Craig ~<8>-/====\---------

well done

Well spotted gentlemen. I deliberately left the 'r' out to see how many people are aware of spelling mistakes, but didn't mean to miss the word 'be' out. An elephant stamp and gold star to both.

Don't worry Tim, if I pick on others it is only fair that they can pick on me.

I notice no-one commented

I notice no-one commented on the encroaching sms-ese abbreviations used also on this site. RJT

Gr8

SMS Speak is a whole other fish, and just as bad. I personally try to reserve SMS chat for ... SMS chat. However, I am prone to the occasional dyslexic typo and have already corrected about three words already!!!
