Hi Paul,What are the

Hi Paul, What are the advantages of my setting up an account at Theatre Network when I have everything I need here at, Theatre Australia? What can I get there that I don't have here, is the question I'm asking? Cheers, Daniel.

The Theatre Network

As you can see, The Theatre Network is very small right now and if you need to advertise yourself, a service or a show, you will quite easily be noticed by any visitors.

I would say that compared to advertising yourself on this website, it's like sticking your business card on the inside door of a public toilet cubicle with a bit of chewie rather than having your name rolling in the credits of a TV soap like Neigbours every day. Many more people see the Neighbours credits, but there's a lot less to read when you're on the dunny so you tend to pay more attention.

Right now we only have 3 performers advertised. It's free; your bio, photos and videos will be there forever probably; and producers are likely to see your profile when they visit the site. There is absolutely no reason NOT to do it... unless you're a performer who er...gets embarrassed easily. :P

So you're basic reason for

So you're basic reason for people to join the site is that there's not much going on there so people will notice you if you sign up? That's probably one of the worst reasons for signing up to any site. There are billions of sites on the web - and many more arts sites that come and die because of lack of interest AND a lack of actually useful info/services. It's very difficult to get anyone to participate on websites - no matter what they are or how well publicised they are - and the proof of the pudding is this one. 10 000+ members on Theatre Australia and I bet about 20 of them are regulars (that is, regularly posting). What the person above asked for was a service that you provide that can NOT be found at any other arts/theatre site? What makes YOUR site different from Arts Hub, Theatre Aus, Aussietheatre.com, Quietonset, etc, etc. Keep in mind that many of these are free to join, have profiles, allow for free advertising, etc. (I'm not actually trying to be mean here, I'm genuinely curious as to what your site offers that makes it different from the others. I'm familiar with most of the Aussie theatre sites, and am always curious about the new ones that appear over time) Puppets and patterns at Puppets in Melbourne
