A friendship between two male pensioners; Larry and George turns sour, when the towns reigning Lawn Bowls champion Arthur is hospitalized due to a 'Freak lawn bowls accident' only weeks before the tournament itself. Realizing now that one of them has the chance to win first prize these two devious pensioners will stop at nothing to claim the coveted first place that they have never before had any chance of winning. George is a old and physically weathered man who needs the aid of a walking stick to walk around. Lawn bowls is the only thing that brings George any form of happiness nowadays. George doesn't like large crowds and young people, the only time where he will tolerate either is during a game of bowls and this is only so he can beat them. George is very competitive and his only real friend is Larry whom he meets with regularly every week for a game of bowls and a cup of tea. Larry Males, aged 50+ from West Australia, Aus Larry: Male, over 60. Larry is a old, vocal and short tempered man who feels the world owes him a favor. Larry is a single minded and a very determined man with little or no conscious. Larry has a sweet tooth and enjoys a cup of tea whenever he can. Larry is more of a people person than his friend George but his toleration of them is still short. Larry is very competitive and it is this and his dislike of Arthur that makes him and George good friends. Arthur Males, aged 50+ from West Australia, Aus Arthur: Male, over 60. Arthur is a kind, loving, well meaning old man. He has always done well by everyone he meets and is highly popular with everyone. Arthur is a good looking man for his age and has a natural ability for lawn bowls and enjoys a game whenever possible. He plays fair and will never do anything to hurt another person, he is modest, a gentlemen and the club captain.
