I came across this ticketing software while searching the web for.......ticketing software. This is free to use for schools and community theatre groups. I've had a bit of a play with it, and it seems to have lots of bells and whistles that you might expect to pay some big bucks for. The free version is SLIGHTLY scaled back from the full version, but still looks like great value for money. It allows you to set up your seating plan (or plans if you have more than one auditorium). - Create a plan for each performance of each show. - Allocate different ticket prices (up to 8 prices I think) - Keeps a database of your patrons - Prints tickets and mailing labels. This may already be widely in use, but just in case it's not.....take a look. http://www.sourcecode-llc.com/tss/TSS__Home.html

Local Ticketing Companies

There are lots of local companies doing some interesting stuff with ticketing, and whilst it isn't free, they offer both online and credit card transactions and they are fairly inexpensive. Ones which I know about include; 1. http://www.trickytix.com.au/ 2. http://www.stickytickets.com.au/ 3. http://www.epicevent.com.au/ ** There is an emerging market for smaller ticketing companies which have an emphasis on providing good service to the theatre industry. The other great thing about these companies is that since they are small, you should be able to get suggestions/improvements listened to. Whilst many of these aren't as fully features yet, I suspect over the next 6-12 months, your going to find them offering increasing amounts of functionality as they mature. Lets just hope that we can keep the money in the artists/promoter hands rather than our own :-) ** [disclosure: I am a co-founder in this company]
