Kate has never felt what it is to be loved for who she is. She has a twisted view. She constantly looks for love and acceptance in the wrong places. Troy, Kate’s boyfriend is the number one student at her high school. But Troy is not what he seems. Excessive drinking is the way to get through things, have fun, and feel accepted. It leads to one tragic night…things will never be the same again.
PARTS AVAILABLE
Fat Lip is looking for talented young actors who are not afraid and willing to push boundaries. Actors must be comfortable with working in a close ensemble. Actors must have no fears on stage, or be willing to confront them. Actors must have no sense of personal space. This will be a superb challenge for anyone willing to take it up. Actors must be at least 18.

WHAT THE AUDITION INVOLVES
You will need to prepare a monologue to perform…we would suggest something that shows emotional depth, which shows you are up for a challenge, and something that shows you have no fears on stage or are willing to confront them…
There will also be some group work and then a choice of multiple monologues which you will have 15 minutes to prepare.

PAYMENT
The final cast will receive some monetary payment,
being a minimum of $150

Fat Lip Drama - CHARACTER SHEET - Binge 09
Audition Materials – Character Information Sheet
We are seeking 7 young actors/actresses (must be at least 18) to form an ensemble to bring this challenging piece to the stage as part of the 2009 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Bec (15)
Bec is a year ten student who enjoys drinking heavily, as it allows her time to forget what is happening in her life, and her past, even if she forgets for just a minute at a time.
Please Note:
• Bec moons (showing bare backside) the audience
• Bec kisses Laura
• One scene involves a game of strip poker (remaining in underwear)
Laura (15)
Laura is a year ten student who places no value on her life. Whilst drinking heavily, she often engages in dangerous, risk taking behaviour, causing harm to her herself, and putting her life in jeopardy.
Please Note:
• Laura moons (showing bare backside) the audience
• Laura kisses Bec
• One scene involves a game of strip poker (remaining in underwear)
Mel (15)
Mel is a year ten student who have never had a boyfriend. Her parents have always been extremely strict. Mel will now do anything to get the attention of her male peers. This puts Mel is extreme danger whilst she is intoxicated.
Please Note:
• Mel flashes her breasts at the audience
• Mel is seen on stage in her underwear, being felt up by Troy, just before she is sexually assaulted by Troy; the actual assault is not seen
• One scene involves a game of strip poker (remaining in underwear)
Troy (16)
Troy is a year eleven student, who has no regard for anything that does not hold a benefit for him. Troy moved out of home when he was 14, and has been creating his own rules ever since. Troy doesn’t feel a connection to anyone. He drinks heavily and lives for the moment.
Please Note:
• Troy fondles Mel, and pulls his pants down (underwear still on), before he sexually assaults Mel; the actual assault is not seen
• One scene involves a game of strip poker (remaining in underwear)
Kate (16)
Kate is Troy’s girlfriend. Kate’s mum is a single mum who has to work heavily to cover the bills and to support Kate and her three siblings. Therefore, Kate doesn’t get to spend as much time with her mum as she would like.
Please Note:
• Kate moons (showing bare backside) the audience
• Kate’s boyfriend Troy touches her backside and gently hits it
• One scene involves a game of strip poker (remaining in underwear)
Todd (16)
Todd has never been himself. He constantly follows Troy, and takes advantage of being his friend. Todd believes that Troy looks after him, but in reality it just suits Troy at the time. Todd lacks confidence, self esteem, and self worth.

Youth Worker
The youth worker from the local school, where each of the characters attend, runs regular health lessons with the students in regards to their alcohol use and misuse. The youth worker also intervenes when the characters fight.
