Apocalypse Now - Redux
Mon, 3 Nov 2008, 01:01 am...is a great movie. I just happen to be up watching it right now on Channel 10, late Sunday night/Monday morning.
And it reminds me - this is the last week to catch Apocalypse Perth at the Blue Room. 6.30pm Tues-Sat.
We've had heaps of people attend who were involved in the various debates about its making. Almost all of the responses have been very positive and enthusiastic. Apparently one person was bored. I know of several people (not related to any cast or crew) who have seen it twice. Lots of people are still discussing it.
If you've seen it, and care to make a comment, please do.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning....
Cheers,
Craig

I don't do it for the money....
Mon, 3 Nov 2008, 09:49 am>>I hope Kate and Jeremy are paying you extra for all this promo work.
I guess that depends on whether it's effective or not.
I don't talk up every show: I'm proud of this one and I reckon people who participate on this website should see it.
The obstacles I think we're fighting are the early timeslot - 6.30 probably suits people who are in town and just knocked off work, but it might be tricky for others who work further from the city - and for me, daylight saving throws me. I find it weird to come out AFTER a performance and still have it light. I tend to not think about going home from work or going out for the evening until I start getting 'sunset signals', and often that makes me slow to get ready even for an 8pm performance.
But for many people this may not be a problem, and may actually be an advantage...they can see our show, have dinner/drinks with friends and still call it an early evening.
The thing it has going in its favour is that more people have found it interesting, surprising and enjoyable than have not.
Either way, there's still seats available for me to promote.
And I haven't personally heard from all those people who were so adamant in earlier posts that the show 'couldn't succeed'. So I'm reminding those people that I expect you to back up your statements by checking it out, and THEN feel free to tell me whether you think you were correct or not.
Cheers,
Craig
