I think there should be

I think there should be more clarification between voting and moderating - is there a difference? Even I find it confusing... We should also mention that it depends on your account settings, and how you choose to view the site: collapsed or expanded threads. Finger puppets now on sale at Puppets in Melbourne

Voting and Moderating

I've just been to read the FAQ as I didn't understand it either. I didn't know there WAS a difference. However, to sum it up...... VOTING - applies only to the first post of a thread, and determines whether or not the thread appears on the home page. The ADD VOTE button is only on the first post of the thread. MODERATING - applies to any other post in the thread. Individual posts can be moderated by selecting a level from "Utter Rubbish" to Excellent" and then clicking the Moderate Comments button after the last post in the thread. The effect of this is to give the individual posts a "value" within the thread. This "value" dtermines whether or not the comment will be displayed in full whilst viewing the thread, dependant upon the users individual "Comment Viewing Options" settings.

Difference between the two

Yes, I feel there is a difference between the two as Comments are not not posted on the home page, only the initial post can be posted there, and that moderated Comments do not affect the appearance of the initial post on the home page.

The Vote is for (basically) the premise of the whole thread, the Moderation is the individual merit of the comments made in response to the initial post.

Na, I could add that detail about the view options yet I think that this may better be another book page associated with these (ie, linked off the Home Page page).

I'll make mods as time permits.
