Important Notice for WA Theatres about the State Government’s Ignite Package - Independent Theatre Initiative

Attention Western Australian Independent Theatre Clubs, Please note the following letter sent to ITA Member Clubs today, More official Links will be on the website soon. Dear President, I am pleased to advise you of an exciting one off funding initiative that will support the independent theatre sector. The Hon. Minister for Culture and the Arts, Sheila McHale, today launched the Independent Theatre Initiative. This fund will support installation or upgrades of equipment and fixtures in the venue you use to improve production values. It will also support activity such as technical and marketing skills training, and attendance at conferences and events. The Independent Theatre Initiative forms part of the State Government’s Ignite Package. Ignite is a dynamic $73million package of initiatives designed to transform Western Australia’s cultural landscape. The funding guidelines and application form are attached for your reference, and can be downloaded from the Department of Culture and the Arts website: www.dca.wa.gov.au Applications close on August 1 2008 for activity commencing on December 1 2008.
