Expressions of interest from directors and play submissions needed!

Calling all interested persons!! Joondalup Encore Theatre Society are calling for expressions of interest for Directors, and play submissions. The new committee are keen to get a variety of plays/ musicals/ pantomimes etc submitted for review so as to select our 2008 and 2009 seasons. Once the submissions have been received, the play reading committee will read, discuss and choose the plays that we would like to do. We just as keen to read original works, as we are to receive submissions of published works. When considering plays, amongst many other criteria, we will be looking at suitability for our venue, our members, our audiences and budget. If you would like to direct, but have not yet chosen a play that you would like to do, thats fine - please let us know anyway. So how do you go about submitting your interest? You can either respond to this email, or mail your submissions to 21a Ontario Cres, Joondalup, 6027. If you are submitting your interest as a Director, please give a short resume as to your prior theatre and/or directing experience. For play submissions, please give a short description of the play, a character list eg 4 males aged between 20 and 50, 2 females.... etc etc. Please also give a synopsis of the play, what you think is the target audience, and how you would see the play being staged. In an ideal world - a copy of your script should also be submitted at this time. If that is not possible, please ascertain prior to lodging your submission that a copy can be borrowed from the Alexander Library. Don't forget to leave your contact details, and we cant wait to get your responses. Please have all submissions to me by 15th June 2008.
