Garrick Theatre is proud to present the Australian Premiere performance of The Geometry of Love, the marriage of Lord Byron written by Peter Dunne. This witty period drama is produced by renowned and award winning director Ailsa Travers. The Geometry of Love will enjoy a three week season at the heritage theatre in Guildford commencing on Friday 23 May.

Set in Regency London 1812-1816. This is the story of the “mad, bad and dangerous to know” Lord Byron, the poet. This beautifully written script oozes with rich sensual language.

It is the story of Byron’s destructive, arranged marriage to Annabella Millbank, a niece of Lady Melbourne. Annabella was a student of Euclid mathematics, an early form of geometry.  Byron called her his Princess of Parrallelograms. The play also tells of his incestuous relationship with his half sister Augusta Leigh.

Director Ailsa Travers who is well known for her period plays, costumes and attention to fine detail looks forward to presenting this clever dramatic true story.  Travers says “Geometry of Love is a very elegant, funny yet serious and ultimately tragic play, it’s an historic tale worth telling.”
