Hi, as someone who wants to get directorial experience before taking on my own show, I haven't seen many audition forms stating that an assistant director is wanted. I was wondering, how many directors are willing to have an assistant working with them?

Where do you live? We at

Where do you live? We at Kwinana Theatre Workshop, Perth, believe that you gain a lot of directorial experience by being involved in all aspects of the production. Your biggest experience will come from being a SM. If you feel when you are ready to gain your directorship we then ask you to do a one act play for us where we ask directors to adjudicate you. If and when you are successful you are then allowed to do a full length production with a director as a mentor. This is the way it has been for over 40 years at our club and it seems to work.
