7 year old dancer...

hey there, firstly there is an awesome site called "dance dot net", or "DDN" it caters to a huge amount of things like stretching advice, folk dancing, musical theatre etc the website is www.dance.net it's a great resource and if you look towards the top of the page there will be a tab that says "ABROAD" if you click it a new page featuring different countries will appear and you can choose australia and even your specific state, asking questions here will probably give you a better response!!! secondly in my opinion the most important thing is to encourage your daughter to have fun while she is dancing, after that comes technique, one of the main problems that occurs in dancers who start young is that around the age of 14 or so they have to be "re-trained" out of bad habits... also in my opinion you should try dancing at a few (if not more) dance schools because you will gain a better sense of your style and new/fresh styles of choreography are always helpful LASTLY... there are heaps of schools that would be appropriate just be sure she's having fun and being as diverse as she can be!
