Ever wondered how you could be involved in the Fremantle Festival?

PEOPLE interested in taking part in the 2007 Fremantle Festival are invited to a community participation meeting on Tuesday, May 29, from 9.15am. It’s an opportunity to meet the festival team and other festival participants while learning how you can get involved in this year’s event in November. Cultural Development Coordinator Lou Westbury said the City of Fremantle worked with the community and artists to achieve a wide-ranging program reflecting community interests. “Community feedback from last year’s festival highlighted it would be very helpful if there was an opportunity for various groups working on festival events to meet beforehand,” she said. “If people are thinking about including an event but don’t know where to start, want to perform in the festival but are unsure how it works or are wondering if there’s any support for inclusion in the Lotterywest Street Parade, this in an ideal opportunity to find out more. “People will be able to discover the many ways they can be involved, get an idea of who else is working on festival events and maybe even find ways to share resources.” The first Fremantle Festival community meeting will be held in the reception room at the City of Fremantle offices, located at 8 William Street.
