NSW ACTOR DESPERATELY NEED TO PLAY LEAD ROLE - TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

I’m a Director of a local community theatre group in Campbelltown NSW and we are in desperate need for the lead “Tom Robinson” for our stage play “To Kill a Mockingbird” and we GO ON IN SIX WEEKS! The actor we had let us down on work commitments so now we have a cast of 25 without their Tom. ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR THE NEXT 6 WEEKS? We need: Age: between 20 – 40yrs African American male or can play this role Medium to solid build Preferably tall, over 5’10” or 170cm + Rehearse Tues and Thurs night Production commences Fri 15th June for 3 weeks with Fri & Sat performances Can play with an American accent, area Alabama 6 pages of dialogue to memorise, but vital to the story (the story is about him, he IS the Mockingbird!) Script Character Description is as follows: Robinson is black handsome and vital but with his left hand crippled by a childhood accident and held against his chest. He is married to Helen and they have young children. He faces up to a false charge with quiet dignity. There’s an undercurrent in him of kindness, sensitivity and consideration.
