The Catch is a short film being produced at Curtin University by a crew of 5 third year Film and Television students. The film is about the way in which society is so willing to effortlessly trade real life experiences for technology and the void this can leave in people’s lives. It also explores the idea of desire, with the main character, a 10-year-old boy, witnessing certain realities such as birth and death, but in the end giving in to his desire and imagining what he wants instead of seeing what really exists. The Director of The Catch is Will Faulkner, who has recently been awarded a grant from the FTI for another of his projects, "Clouds". The Catch is being Produced by Kealey Nutt of Splendid Productions, who has produced a number of short films at Curtin University. We are looking for: A young male actor, around 10 years old, but can be older so long as they look around 10, to play the lead role in the pilot scene for our film. The Pilot will be shot over one day, in two weeks time (very likely to be on a weekend, but subject to negotiation with actor). The role is unpaid, but is a great opportunity to work with an experienced crew and to gain material for your showreel. Please contact the Producer, Kealey to arrange an audition time: 0431906332 kealey_morgan@hotmail.com splendidproductions@gmail.com
