Can anybody recommend a good beginner's drama/theatre course in Perth WA for a 20-something year old? I have very little acting experience other than attending childrens drama classes in my younger years.

Drama/Theatre course in Perth

Writing for page & screen on the Sunset Coast... To gain lots of experience on or backstage, join a local community theatre group. Depending which area you live in, your local city council will know of it's theatre and group associated i.e. City of Stirling, City of Joondalup, Garrick Theatre etc, etc. If you work full time you might prefer paid (weekly/evening) workshops - I can recommend the PAC Screen Workshops for actors/ directors/ writers from theatre to screen. They run 8 week courses for about $220 all up - which works out at under $30 a two hour meeting. At the end, you'll have participated in two screen performances run by a very prominant casting agent Annie Murtach-Monks. Of course there's always WAAPA! But they don't take their actors until they have a certain amount of 'life experience' and of course require full time study, but they come highly recommended. Think: Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger etc etc. But in your case, going by your message, I'd say join a local theatre group - there's LOADS of them around... and good luck.
