I'm embarassed. I've posted previously on this board offering contacts with a group of writers from all over the world yep all over the world offering anything from ten minute plays, short plays , full length, musicals large casts, small casts you name it. The group is currently having a marketing blitz looking for companies which might be interested in reading new work. Yes of course they expect to be paid if you produce but looking is free. Companies from all over the US and UK and Canada are being offered to the group so far, I've managed one Australian company CSU Uni. Last call before I die of shame. Anyone want access to new work? email me telling me your requirements and I'll pass it on. Members of the group are happy to Email or to post hard copy. be specific in what you want and you'll get a heap of submissions The best Nic acnicol@ozemail.com.au

I and the two companies I

I and the two companies I am involved in are interested in new work. SHORTS is swamped after my appeal earlier in the year, you sent us some work and we are still desperately trying to get seasons on. The problem with us is cast and directors. The other group is presently without a performance venue and I hesitate to ask for submissions without anywhere to put the work on. I will be in touch when we are sorted. Don't despair. Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing. www.tonymoore.id.au

New writers?

So are looking for new writers to join, or other companies? Sorry, I'm confused.

Hi the aim is to find companies will ing to accept submissions of new work but writers might like to look for the playwrights notice board and join in. The best Nic

Companies more than likely

Companies more than likely won't be interested. Most companies that accept script submissions are swamped already, and turn down probably about 95% of submissions. Those that are accepted are usually scripts from award-winning playwrights, playwrights who have been successful elsewhere, or playwrights that they have already worked with. Your best bet is to approach each company individually, as each company will have a different policy and interest in new scripts. Here Here

Here Here! To Cassie. I say take on new writers! Take a risk and try and put on more "new stuff" each year! It is a risk worth taking in order for theatre to grow. So I say good on them all for trying and if they are being "swamped" with companies requesting to view their works they are obviously succeeding to bigger extent then most. ~ Tari The Writer is a child forever listening at the keyhole of the adult world.

Try, try, try again

Yes, I applaud your efforts - just trying to explain why you might not have heard anything from companies as yet. New work

You could try setting up a website with outlines of your new work and then email companies with the link. They can then contact you if they like anything. I have set up a website for my musical Meant To Be and I have received hundreds of hits from schools who are interested in putting it on. I'm hoping that a theatre company might also be interested. So if you are a director or producer visit http://home.iprimus.com.au/spiroandgeorgina/meanttobe.htm to find out about a new work that has already been produced and has been extremely successful.
