WEEKLY ACTING CLASSES – ACTING UP MELBOURNE (VIC)
Wed, 25 Oct 2006, 12:33 pmThese classes are designed to give you a solid foundation in acting, covering characterisation, scene work, monologue work, Stanislavski technique, voice work and camera/screen technique and are for students aged 15 years old to the Over 50's.
All techniques taught in these classes are based on those taught at The Actors' Institute, London (UK) (affiliated with The Actors Institute, New York).
Beginners are welcome, as are those who have some experience and wish to broaden their skills base in a professional and fun environment.
The 6 week course consists of the following modules:
· Stage vs. Screen Technique
· Characterisation
· Working With Text
· Stanislavski System
· Monologue work
· Voice Work
· Learning Lines

ABOUT THE TUTOR:
Sally McLean is a graduate of The Actors Institute, London UK. She has numerous acting credits in both Australian and UK theatre, film and television, as well as running her own independent film outfit, Salmac Productions, created under the patronage of Oscar-nominated and BAFTA award-winning British actor Sir Nigel Hawthorne (“Yes, Minister”, “The Madness of King George”) and independent theatre arm, Incognita Enterprises.
As an actor, she was most recently seen on ABC and BBC Television in the role of “Angie Powers” in the BBC mini-series Bootleg, on Channel 9 in various roles for Comedy Inc., on stage for La Mama Theatre in the moved reading of Young Turks by Gwen Thompson, and in Phrankly Theatre's The Auxiliary at Gasworks, and in film in the lead role of "Catherine Gale" in Earnest Kim's Sleeper.
She has additionally written and directed three theatrical productions and three films, with a docu-drama currently in pre-production as well as a feature film to be shot in Scotland, UK.
She has just completed the successful 2006 Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula seasons of her play “Chasing Pegasus (a play in ten chords)”, performed at Gasworks Arts Park and the Heritage-listed Mt Martha House.
