ITA DramaFest Reviews
Fri, 29 Sept 2006, 11:30 amWhat a fabulous turn out to the opening night of the ITA State One Act Drama Festival at Marloo Theatre last night. Marloo opened their doors and their charming hospitality to us all. One of the things I truly love about DramaFest is catching up with absolutely everyone from all the various WA community theatres, a tremendous social atmosphere!!
Tonight is Session 2 starting at 8pm, and if you are like most of us rushing around getting ready and forget to eat - no fear - Marloo have a wonderful canteen set up with mouth watering soup and bread, sandwiches, cakes and more being served tonight and over the weekend there will be devonshire teas, sausage in a bun, quiche and salad and more - and don't forget the Marloo bar, great service, fabulous smiles, at 'you beaut' prices, along with a fabulous new widescreen tv to view the stage action from the foyer...
Don't forget to place your 'review' on Theatre Australia of the various performances you see.
Tonight's shows are:
Darlington Theatre Players - "The Pen of My Aunt" a comedy/drama by Gordon Daviot and directed by Marjorie De Caux
Old Mill Theatre - "A Kind of Alaska" a drama by Harold Pinter and directed by Sally Barendse
Phoenix Theatre - "In The Blood" a drama by Helen Wyngard and directed by Maureen Barnett
Irish Theatre Players - "Stay Carl, Stay" a comedy by Peter Tolan and directed by Patrick Abbott
We all look forward to catching up with you all over this wonderful Spring long weekend... and Saturday afternoon's session should not interupt the big footy grand final...
Look forward to dissertating with you in the foyer and at the Marloo Bar.
Melz :-)
