I am interested in attending an acting workshop that includes a "mock" audition with well known Melbourne casting agents. I am wondering if anyone out there has done similar workshops, and what were your overall opinions on them. Thanks!

Casting Agent Workshops

I've done a couple of these and found them to be really useful (one with Rehearsal Room and another with Acting Up). Normally when you're in an actual audition you rarely get any feedback - there's not enough time and I've always thought it's a little unprofessional to ask what they thought, so doing these workshops in a less pressurised situation, where the Casting Director actually WANTS to give you feedback on your work is really fantasic. And let's face it, they're in a position to hire you, so who better to learn about auditioning from? As long as the workshop is reasonably priced and there aren't too many students in a class (about eight is good, any more and you just don't get enough time with the Casting person one-on-one), then I'd go for it. It's also a really good way to let them know who you are and for you to get to know them, and that can't hurt either. :) JP

'Scuse me?

With all the bad press about Blackbox? Is Sarah Hallam a part of Black Box or just loosely associated?
