ABC Funding a Start

Recent Blog postings on the Alliance Web site have shown that support for the ABC is overwelming. This support has forced the government's hand, says Chris Warren, who have agreed to provide $30 Mill over three years.

"Of course, it’s an open secret that much of the government hates the ABC. Despite that, activism has forced them to do something it wouldn’t normally willingly do." - Chris Warren

The ABC has previously produced in excess of 100 hours of local of locally produced drama per year. This current funding offer will restrict them to 20 hours only which puts them behind their commercial rivals.

So while this is not thrilling news, it certainly does demonstrate what power the people have. Rest assured that the ABC and associated groups, including the Union, will continue to show strength and support to an increase in funding, and locally made productions.

Together, we can keep the ABC alive.
