Meet the Filmmaker

FTI Cinema’s Meet the Filmmaker night launches on June 1 at 7pm and will be a regular monthly event. Kicking of the series will be Features on a Shoestring with special guest filmmakers Zak Hilditch and Antony Webb, hosted by Phil Jeng Kane, in our newly furbished cinema. Their first feature length film The Actress (filmed in WA with WA actors) will be screened prior to a question and answer session with the audience. The Actress was funded independently and selected for the prestigious Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Meet the Filmmaker will run on the first Thursday night of every month at 7pm and provide Perth’s emerging filmmaking industry, and community, the chance to hear filmmakers describe their experiences. Emerging and well-known industry professionals will screen their works, discuss their craft, talk about their personal journey and answer questions from the audience. These events provide an excellent opportunity for an audience to gain insider knowledge and be inspired by those working successfully in the West Australian screen industry. Tickets to these events are $10 for FTI Members/concession and $12 for non-members. Bookings are limited to an audience of 60 for all events.
