Sat, 15 Apr 2006, 07:31 pmThis section (VENUES) looks like it has the makings of a good resource; but, already some people are cluttering it with an entry for their venue under the locations of Australia, State, and Town. Surely just the Town would be sufficient!
Administrators: as the number of entries grows, could they be sorted into State (as the primary sort), then Town and Venue name last. What I'd also like to see is an additional column listing the capacity. That'd make choosing a venue a little easier, I think.
Oh! By the way; why list a venue if it is not available for hire?
Cheers,
Russell

Bien venue
I recently made this mistake. So many categories you can multi-list your production under, you're almost encouraged to click Australia, State AND Town. And in my defense, until recent changes, if you listed a production only by the Town, you WEREN'T automatically included in the State....which made being too specific a bit pointless.
As I understand it now, it's best to choose the ONE option which is most specific to your location.
When I search the lists, I separate WA from the rest. I'm not sure how useful it is to specify productions in Perth, as it's usually pretty obvious to figure out which are from out of town. Maybe this function is more useful in other states, if there are many more towns specified as options to sort from?
Cheers,
Craig

Viewing venues
Hi Russell and Craig
Thanks for the feedback on the venues... while looking for something (else) to distract me from fixing the problems with comments, responding to heathie's private msg problem etc, I've taken on board some of the suggestions above.
I've switched to a single selector for location. It will no longer be possible to select multiple locations. So, if your event is occurring in more than one city, you should select the relevant state. If it's occurring in more than one state, select Australia!
I appreciate that this may be a little limiting for people in some areas near the boundaries between states. I hope it's a problem they (and their audiences) may be used to living with!
I've also expanded the list of locations significantly to incorporate all australian cities.
Heathie's next!!
:-)
Cheers
Grant
