I'm having some issue with the SAWT logon so I've put this here under mine.
SA Writers Theatre is seeking new writers and readers
The SA Writer’s Theatre was established with the intention of assisting local playwrights to develop their work to the point where it is of a high enough standard to be presented to the public..
Currently we are seeking new writers to bring their work to us.
The process of script development starts with the regular monthly meetings. New scripts or parts of new scripts are brought to those meetings where they are read out loud by members. Then feedback is given to the writer about the script and the writers future intentions with that script are discussed. A “cell” consisting of three members of SAWT is appointed to assist the writer and after they have closely read the script they have meetings with the writer and make suggestions to help improve the script. The next stage is one or more workshops where an experienced director and actors read the script and make further suggestions. The last of these workshops is carried out before an audience of members of SAWT. Finally the script goes to a moved reading at one of our monthly Sundays with SAWT with an experienced Director and Cast.
Currently SAWT are planning an annual full production of one of the plays that goes through this process.
We are also seeking experienced actors to take part as readers in the workshop and Sunday with SAWT programmes. Potential readers are welcome to become associate members of SAWT.
Membership ranges from $10.00 per annum for junior members up to 26 years of age to $60.00 per annum for full adult members, $35.00 concession.
Contact the Chairman of SAWT Tony Moore at sawtchair@sawt.org.au or on 0400 579 530 for further information.
