Ignorant South Aussie here, who is/was Finley?

So I did a bit of diving around, checked the About - ITA, checked the FAQ, but can't seem to find a bit on the Finley Awards. Who is/was Finley? When did the awards start? As in ignorant South Australian I'm now a little curious...it might be nice to have a small section on the topic somewhere?? Just a suggestion. Rapunzel
