I need your fundraising ideas

Some of you might recall my posting last year for applicants on something I liked to call 'The Bump In Project'. A bit of a recap for those who need it: the project is designed to help local emerging artists present work and develop their skills. 'Round A' was a mentorship for a techie/designer, and 'Round B' was a grant to present a show at the Melb Fringe Festival this year. Both have been offered, and I'm now looking at ways to restructure and run the project again for next year. Round A was unfruitful with very few applications and unfortunately, my show, which was going to be used to help the mentoree learn in a pro environment, was cancelled. I've decided to cancel that particular aspect of the project due to lack of interest and difficulty in maintaining good opportunities to work alongside a pro (however, if anyone is willing to offer their time or a mentorship spot in their show, let me know and I could rethink my position). Round B however was extremely successful. I received roughly 50 applications from people around the country, from both recent uni graduates to up-and-coming performers and groups. The grant was so popular, I had people desperately trying to get their application in on the day of the deadline. In the end, instead of offering a grant to one group, I helped subsidise three shows, all of which saw successful seasons during the Fringe. The grant was self-funded, and while I was happy (and still am) to put my own money in, I am now looking at ways to help continue the grant and potentially offer it not just for the Fringe, but also for the Comedy festival in Melb. I need some fundraising ideas, and I'd love everyone's input on how best to approach it. I'm not looking into government funding or philanthropic societies, mainly because I think there'll be too many hoops to jump through to get this done. I'm also NOT going to charge people to submit entries; I know many companies do this in their competitions, but I personally believe it defeats the purpose, and never myself apply for anything that requires a fee just to submit. .... So, any ideas?
