A Play reading guild in Perth...

For some time now I have been toying with the idea of forming a "play reading" group in Perth.

I realise that most community companies already have "reading committees" that select plays &/or musicals for their upcoming productions, and that there are one or two select groups that already meet to read works. But what I had envisaged was that a group of like minded people could meet and dry run plays from the scripts.

These plays could be an old favorite that you would like to be part of but not actually mount  or perhaps reading through new works to give the author an idea of how they flow when "performed". 

There would be no affiliation with any currently formed theatre group or association, (EDIT: Other than to possibly "borrow" a venue) it would basically be a convening of performers that want to "have a go".

Thoughts???
