This is kind of an extension on my last journal entry so bare with me if I repeat anything. Oh like the new name. Thought I'd take a leaf out of Labrugs book and make a name considering I'm actually blogging lately Got the details of our mock practical exams yesterday. Have tomorrow off so am planning on working on my original solo production. The mock is in 4wks. I'm not giving much away about my solo piece because it will be showcased in 4wks at our school's annual Arts Extravaganza (more about that further down). My monologue for the exam is Mary Warren from Arthurs Miller's play "The Crucible." A very heightened and hysterical emotional piece taken from Act Two. Again not saying much more. if you wish to read it go ahead but it may also appear in the Arts Extravaganza. The solo production for the exam. Set using a character i've had floating round my head for a while. Quite a mysterious girl actually and her job. Not saying much more though. It's probably nothing liek what anyone is thinking. So unless you get the job part right it won't expand any further. It's slowing working it's way into a good solid script but iss taking it's time. lol. I've mentioned the Arts Extravnganza. I know a few schools do these but each year our school hires out Nexus Theatre at Murdoch university for two nights and we put on a showcase of music, dance and drama by the students from those subject areas. An display of work by the school's art and graphic design students in the foyer. Many of these pieces are award winners and some are auctioned off on the final night or can be applied to be bought seperately. This year the programme has grown to include - The Yr9 & 10 drama students performing scripted plays. - The yr9 dance students are doing a piece. ] - Gabby (yr9 dance student) and my talented lil sis is doing a solo performance - The yr12 Drama (non-TEE) students are performing their duologues - The yr12 Drama Studies (TEE) are performing their exam pieces. - The woodwind ensemble (featuring myself also! lol) is peforming a piece - ECC Choir girls are doing several pieces including solos and duets - And the ECC guitar ensemble will be performing a piece also. So very LARGE programme this year. The shows have been pushed forward an hour to fit it all in and a 20min break has also been included. The show this year is running on September 14th and 15th - Thursday and Friday nights. I'll make a seperate blog when I get more details That's it for now. But rest asured there will be more to come. Like I mentioned more details will be given about the Arts Extravaganza (which is yet to be titled) in the next few weeks. Anyone who is interested will be able to reserve tickets through me or through the contact numbers that will be provided. Ciao for now ~ Tari
