My arrival at the Adelaide Fringe 2008
Wednesday 20 February 2008
Well, we're here. Last night we opened. A couple of minor tech errors and some stumbled lines.
We had some reviewers and I will be posting the reviews on my website (see below) as they arrive.
This has been a long process, the play started almost two years ago stalled about a year ago and then was finished and partially rewritten after the Haneef affair.
The process of working with a composer providing a new score was interesting and the issue of design, keeping it simple was a good one. The problem is that the play just ends. Last nights audience didn't seem to understand that the play had finished and I had to start clapping to get them to clap.
I am very happy with my marvelous cast. Joanna Webb and Sahil Choujar have done a wonderful job as have my two silent guards Damien White and Gary Harrison.
Here we go the show still has the best part of three weeks to run. Adelaide folks I will be very happy to see you there.
