benefit musical

my friend and I are writing a musical that we want to produce as a benefit type of thing were all or most of the money raised will go to an organisation....I want to know if anyone on here knows of any good organisations for the money to go to...like canteen and any good sponsors to write to...also... Because it is our first time doing something like this we were wondering if anyone could tell us what things we need what equipment we will need and what things we need from sponsors.
