My Journey to the 2008 Adelaide Festival Fringe Part 5

Saturday 12 January 2008

Well, It's been a while and much water has passed under the bridge since my last blog on 12/12. I spent some time playing the big red guy at a local shopping centre and did various other things to earn a living. I lost my leading man due to a major family crisis for him and I really hope all will come good for him. Well that was a small crisis which has been solved and I am very happy indeed with the new actor although unfortunately for him I got him because he had been forced to cancel his own show. Swings and round abouts I guess, My sweeping statement about the posters being ready was a bit optimistic and I actually only got them last week but that doesn't matter cos they are great. They have gone to the distribution company and if you live in Adelaide you will soon see them up around the place. We have started rehearsal seriously and have the enormous luxury of being in our performance space to rehearse. This weekend I will have the firat moving rehearsal that the composer will attend and he has some material for the most difficult scene, one in which the male actor is alone on stage for some 4 minutes which is entirely underscored with no spoken words. The official ticket sales opened on Thursday and much to my surprise I sold some tickets on the first day. Wow. I havent yet really given any thought to lights and also there are a number of sound effects that I need to put together. Costumes are apparently fixed though. Well onward and upward
