Three weeks is a lifetime

Na

Monday 24 July 2006

I have spent the last three weeks sitting at home working on my new website. It feels like a lifetime; leaving my job seems so distant now. For someone completely unfamiliar with coding, programming et al, it seems to come naturally to me - I'm not good at it, but I can understand it enough to configure things for my own purposes. And thank god for online forums and helpful manuals and clear support staff. How different it is to sit at a computer trying to decide if that ' is really the cause of your site crashing, compared with staring at a lighting desk wondering why four lights on one dimmer overloads the circuits. I'm really looking forward to launching the new site - with plenty of new ways for all us theatre people to hook up and exchange information - if only so I can stop staring at the screen for more than half an hour. I've begun to dream about href... (coding terms for those who don't know, it's what makes your link go from being text to being a clickable link). I reckon I could probably launch it next week if I'm lucky, so I'm asking for any interested parties to test out my site. You don't need to know anything about website design, just test it out and let me know what you think and if you come across any problems. At this stage there's still a few things to fix, but any help would be appreciated!! Email me or message me here - and for a sneak peek at the site, go to www.thepromptcopy.com/index.php. (www.thepromptcopy.com is still redirecting to my old site). Thanks in advance! Na (the bleary-eyed one)
